Blade system

The blade system is a core part of the interface. It allows you to fully utilize large screen by having multiple documents open at the same time. It also makes it easier to navigate the relations between the content.

Fundamentals

A blade is container. The contents of a blade varies a lot. The most common use of a blade is a content editing blade. A content editing blade is a blade containing the common cotent editing interface for one specific content. 

All blades have a number of common controls, and a number of controls that vary between the different types of blades.

Example blades

The screenshot above shows a display of 3 open blades: A blade containing the tree structure, a blade with the Home module page, and the last blade is one of the modules opened.

Blade controls

More options (opens menu)
Display content/images in grid view with thumbnails
Display content/images in a list
   
Closes all blades to the left of the active blade
Add content to favourites
Content is marked as a favourite. Click to remove from favourites
Pin the current blade to the right of the browser window so it remains open
 

Example showing a blade (Buildings and monuments in this instance) pinned to the right

Unpin this blade and move it back to its original position
Opens the content tree to the left of this blade with the active content selected
Show all relationships for the active content (see diagram below)
