Newsletter module user guide

The Newsletter module is one of the most used modules in the whole CMS. This guide will help you understand and take advantage of all the features available.

Explaining the different terms

Before we start, we're going to explain the different term used in the newsletter module. It's important that you understand the difference between the different terms.

A Newsletter in Webnodes is a collection of email deliveries to a distinct group of recipients of a certain type of content. An example is that a newsletter can be a collection of "Weekly offers". Each delivery normally has similar content, it is sent to the same subscriber list and the settings are normally the same for all Weekly offer deliveries.

A newsletter delivery in Webnodes is the term used to describe the sending of one specific email(it may vary due to personalization) to the subscribers of the newsletter in question.

Subscriber list

A subscriber list is a collection of subscribers that subscribe to one or several newsletters. A subscriber can be a user in Webnodes, or just an email address. A subscriber list also contains a list of everyone that has unsubscribed from the newsletter.

The module

The default view in the newsletter module lists the newsletters available in the selected site:

Each newsletter has 3 buttons in this listing:

  1. "New delivery" button opens the delivery dialogue window using the existing settings on the Newsletter node. For more information on how to send a newsletter, take a look at the "Send newsletter" page.
  2. The "Default" button opens the newsletter settings form, where you can change all the settings for the newsletter. For more information on the different properties, see the "Add newsletter" page.
  3. The "Reports" buttons opens the "Sent" item in the tree structure for the newsletter in question. For more information on newsletter delivery statistics see the "Newsletter statistics" page.

There is also a "Manage subscriber lists" at the bottom of the start page of the newsletter module. For more information see the "Subscriber lists" page.
