Strip formatting

When copying text from another source such as a Microsoft Word document, a PDF or another web site, the original styling will automatically follow from the source. This can often conflict with the predefined web design styles you have on your website. The WYSIWYG editor provides several features for stripping away formatting.

  • The first button (highlighted above) will try to clean up messy formatting. Formatting might become messy when underlying codes for styling and formatting intertwine as a result of copy and paste.
  • Button two will remove style formatting. This will not remove paragraph coding such as headings but it will remove custom styling.
  • Button three will remove all formatting including text paragraph coding such as headings.

Another often used method of stripping away all formatting is by first copying the text over to the Windows program named Notepad and then copy it from there over to WYSIWYG editor.
