Product philosophy
The Web 3.0 process is at an early stage, but it’s already moving in some very clear directions. One of the key elements is in this process is: “Semantics”.

Webnodes take content very seriously; that’s also why our product philosophy is focused around semantic content (ref. the figure above)
The Semantic Web definition is; a group of methods and technologies to allow machines (i.e. PC’s and mobile devices) to understand the meaning - or "semantics" - of the information on the Web.
Web pages where originally designed to be read by people, not machines. So the semantic web is a vision of information that is understandable by i.e. computers and mobile devices, so that they can perform more of the tedious work involved in finding, combining, relate to-, and acting upon information on the web.
So in semantic web solutions, content is structured in a more intelligent way (i.e. object oriented- / relation based structures). This is where the Webnodes’ product philosophy comes in, we provide a CMS with the ability to create semantic content. Content can then be presented on different devices, and become more user specific. In addition to being related to in several different ways, formats and channels.
ORM –Object Relational Mapping; is a programming technique for converting data between incompatible type systems in object-oriented programming languages. This creates, in effect, a "virtual object database" that can be used from within the programming language.
In order to develop semantic web solutions, your CMS needs an extremely flexible data model. The Webnodes CMS-ORM is a unique way of creating such a flexible data model.
In short the Webnodes CMS-ORM has a very flexible semantic content engine at its core. The semantic content is accessed via the ORM. In our CMS system, relations are not just tags, but real database relations.
With Webnodes’ “Semantic module”, developers can define customized ontology for each web solution. So content and relations between different types of content can be defined, so that customers get customized web solutions in addition to a unique/intelligent method of structuring the data on.
